Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled plans to introduce a groundbreaking cancer treatment technique from China. The latest method, which eliminates the need for chemotherapy, will be launched as a pilot project in one of Punjab’s leading hospitals.
Revolutionary Cancer Treatment Without Chemotherapy
CM Maryam Nawaz, during a provincial cabinet meeting held on Thursday, shared details of this innovative treatment. The technique uses liquid nitrogen technology to eliminate cancer tumors, relying on a machine the size of an ultrasound device. She emphasized that this state-of-the-art method offers a less invasive and more efficient alternative to traditional chemotherapy.
“This technique has the potential to transform cancer treatment in Punjab,” she remarked, adding that the pilot project would pave the way for its broader implementation across the province.
Strategic Collaborations with China
Speaking about her recent visit to China, CM Maryam highlighted the growing interest of Chinese investors in Punjab. Representatives from 60 major Chinese companies have expressed their willingness to invest in the province.
A China-Punjab Desk has been approved to facilitate collaboration and streamline investments. This desk will act as a bridge to foster partnerships and advance innovative projects like the cancer treatment pilot program.
Additional Cabinet Decisions
During the cabinet meeting, the following key decisions were also made:
- Sending Relief to Parachinar: Approval was granted for dispatching medicines, essential supplies, and a mobile healthcare unit to assist the residents of Parachinar.
- Promotion of Shrimp Farming: The cabinet approved initiatives to encourage shrimp farming and aquaculture across Punjab, along with terms for leasing government land to support these industries.
- Amendment to the Punjab Vagrancy Ordinance 1958: Punishment for exploiting children for begging has been increased from one year to 10 years, reflecting the government’s commitment to child welfare and anti-begging measures.
Addressing Health Concerns in Multan
The chief minister also expressed serious concern over the recent HIV outbreak among dialysis patients in Multan. She described the situation as both regrettable and shameful, calling for an immediate resolution.
Maryam Nawaz criticized the halting of dialysis procedures due to a lack of funds and instructed health officials to submit a progress report within 24 hours.
Transforming Healthcare in Punjab
The introduction of advanced cancer treatment, coupled with strategic health initiatives and collaborations with China, demonstrates CM Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services in Punjab.
By integrating innovation and investment, the Punjab government is working towards a healthier and more prosperous future for its citizens.
